Helping Marin nonprofits succeed

Besides making grants, MCF provides several resources for the entire nonprofit community in Marin County.

Meeting space: Three of MCF’s conference rooms are available for use by community nonprofit groups.

Technical assistance: MCF supports technical assistance efforts to help nonprofits receive support around such issues as organizational development, media relations, fund development, and collaboration. For information on technical assistance grants, community groups should contact the program officer for the issue area your agency is involved in:

In  addition, MCF  makes technical assistance grants to public/private  partnerships, groups of organizations, or multiple service areas that are  collaborating on an area of common concern. For more information, contact  Marsha  Bonner, vice president for  programs, at  mbonner@marincf.org or 415.464.2519.

Organization Funds: Local nonprofit groups can establish organization funds at MCF as part of their overall fundraising strategy. These funds can serve as an effective fundraising tool, since individuals can make contributions to them at any time. They can be established as endowments or as expendable funds.

Community involvement funds: Community involvement funds are funds established at MCF by groups that want to undertake broad-based community fundraising to support their work. These funds require additional administrative support beyond that typically given to the other kinds of funds at the Foundation, so we would need to have a detailed discussed with you about your plans. We can offer this service to only a small number of organizations at any one time.

Awards: The Foundation's Beryl H. Buck Awards for Achievement recognize the outstanding work of community individuals and organizations in Marin. Information about the next round of awards will be posted on this website when they are available.
